Keeping your Dotstore plugin updated is essential for accessing the latest features, improvements, and security patches. Here's how you can update the plugin:

Step 1: Automatic Updates via WordPress Dashboard
- Go to your WordPress dashboard and navigate to Plugins > Installed Plugins.
- If an update is available, you will see an "Update Now" option next to the plugin.
Simply click "Update Now" to install the latest version of the plugin.
Step 2: Manually Update via WordPress Dashboard
Go to My Account > My Dashboard > Downloads
- Go to Wordpress Dashboard > Plugins > Deactivate and delete the older version.
- Install and activate the latest version by adding the license key.

Note: If your Freemius license is expired or inactive, you may need to renew or re-activate it before updating the plugin.
Step 3: Manually Updates via FTP/cPanel
If you cannot update your WordPress plugin via the WordPress dashboard or prefer a manual method, you can update your plugin using FTP or cPanel. Follow these steps for a smooth update:
Step 3.1: Using the FTP Method
You can download the latest plugin version from the above Step 2 and click here to follow Step 2.2: Upload via FTP.
Step 3.2: Using the cPanel Method
- Download the Latest Plugin Version: You can download the latest plugin version from the above Step 2
- Log in to cPanel: Access your website’s cPanel by visiting
yourdomain.com/cpanel
and logging in with your credentials. Go to the File Manager: In cPanel, locate File Manager under the Files section. Navigate to the
wp-content/plugins
directory.
Depending on the hosting provider, the cPanel interface may vary, so the steps above will vary based on the type of hosting.
- Upload the Latest Plugin Version: Click Upload and select the plugin ZIP file you downloaded. Once uploaded, extract the ZIP file directly into the
wp-content/plugins
directory. - Delete the Old Plugin Folder: Find the old version of the plugin in the
wp-content/plugins
directory. Delete the old plugin folder to avoid conflicts, or rename it to keep it as a backup. - Activate the Updated Plugin: Log in to your WordPress dashboard and go to Plugins > Installed Plugins to ensure the new version is installed and activated.
After completing either the FTP or cPanel method, always test your website to ensure the update was successful and no issues arise.
