How to create a category-specific quantity rule

Step 1: Open a min/max rule

Go to Dotstore Plugins → Min/Max Quantity and open Manage Rules.

Click Add New, or open an existing rule.

Step 2: Choose the Category condition

Under Conditions, choose Category. This targets product categories rather than individual products.

Step 3: Select the categories

Choose Equal to ( = ) or Not Equal to ( != ), then select the product category or categories the rule should apply to.

Step 4: Exclude specific products

This option is Premium, and it is available only when the condition is Equal to ( = ). It is hidden for Not Equal to ( != ).

Check Exclude Specific Products. In Select products to exclude, search for the products or variations that should skip this rule. The list includes simple products in the selected categories and variations of variable products in those categories.

Select the categories before you search. If you change the categories, any excluded product that is no longer in them is removed.

Step 5: Set the quantity limits

Under Actions, set Min Quantity and Max Quantity for the selected categories. These limits control how many units a customer can buy from that category.

Click Save changes.

Step 6: Check the product page

Open a product in the selected category. The min and max quantity apply to that product. A product or variation you excluded does not use this rule.

One product left out of the category limit. If one tank top, or one variation, should not use that 10 to 20 limit, keep Equal to ( = ), check Exclude Specific Products, and select that product or variation. The limit still applies to the other products in Bras & Tanks.
