How to create a min/max rule based on the product's age
The plugin allows you to apply minimum and maximum quantity limits based on the product’s age, which refers to the number of days since the product was published or launched.
For instance, if you set the rule for the product age as greater than or equal to 15 days, the plugin will check if the product was launched 15 or more days ago and then apply the min/max rule.
Note: For this rule, you will need to specify the product’s age in days.
Steps to Create Product Age-Based Rules:
- Go to the "Manage Rules" page in the plugin settings and click the "Add New" button to start creating a new rule.
In the "Configuration" section, set the rule status (Active/Inactive) and assign a descriptive name to the rule, such as "Product Age Specific Rule," to help you easily identify it later.
- In the "Advanced Rules > Conditions" section, select the "Product Age" option and define the condition. For example, "Product Age greater than or equal to X days" (where "X" is the number of days since the product was launched).
In the "Advanced Rules > Action" section, define the minimum and maximum quantity limits for the selected product age condition.
Save your changes to apply the rule.
Example Use Cases:
New Product Launches: If you have recently launched a product, you may want to apply restrictions for the first few weeks. For instance, you could set a rule where if the product is less than 30 days old, customers can only purchase up to 1 unit to prevent bulk buying during the early launch phase.
Limited-Time Promotions for Older Products: For products that have been on the market for a while, you might create a rule for items older than 60 days, allowing customers to purchase a minimum of 5 units to encourage bulk buying of older inventory during a clearance sale.
