How to apply user-specific quantity rules
The Minimum and Maximum Quantity for WooCommerce plugin enables you to apply quantity restrictions based on specific users or user roles. This allows for highly customized shopping experiences, such as setting different quantity limits for regular customers, wholesale buyers, or VIP members.
You can create rules based on the following user-specific conditions:
- Specific Users: Select individual users from your store’s user list and apply custom minimum or maximum quantity limits tailored to their purchasing needs.
- User Roles: Define rules for entire user groups based on roles (e.g., administrators, customers, subscribers, wholesale buyers). This is useful for bulk purchasing or special quantity limits for certain customer types.
Steps to Create User-Specific Quantity Rules:
- Go to the "Manage Rules" page in the plugin settings and click on the "Add New" button to start creating a new rule.
- In the "Configuration" section, set the rule status (Active/Inactive) and give the rule a descriptive name (e.g., "VIP Customer Rule" or "Wholesale Quantity Rule") so you can easily identify it later.
In the "Advanced Rules > Conditions" section, you can select and set conditions for users and user roles. You can also add multiple conditions within the same group. For example, you could apply a rule to a specific user role only if they are purchasing products from a certain category.
In the "Advanced Rules > Action" section, set the minimum and maximum quantity limits based on your requirements. You can also configure the default input value, step quantity, and input selector (dropdown, radio buttons, etc.) to customize how customers input their desired quantities.
Save your changes to activate the user-specific rule.
Example Use Cases:
VIP Customers: If you offer special deals to VIP members, you can create a rule that allows these customers to purchase a limited number of exclusive products (e.g., a maximum of 2 units of a rare item).
Regular Customers: For general customers, you might want to restrict the purchase of certain items to a minimum or maximum quantity, especially for limited stock or promotional items.
Note: These user-specific rules can be combined with other conditions like product categories, cart values, or even country-specific rules to create dynamic and flexible shopping experiences for different customer segments.
