How to Add User Manual Attachments for Logged-In Members

The Show User Manuals for Logged-In Users Only feature in the Product Attachment for WooCommerce plugin allows store owners to control who can access downloadable files like user manuals by restricting visibility to only logged-in users.

This is especially useful for B2B stores, membership-based shops, or digital product sellers who want to offer files only to verified users.

Preconditions

Ensure the following before you start:

• WooCommerce is installed and set up
• The Product Attachment for WooCommerce plugin is installed and activated
• You have at least one product added to your store
• Your PDF user manual is ready for upload

Step-by-Step Instructions

Attaching User Manual for Logged-In Users Only

1. Log in to your WordPress dashboard

   Go to Dotstore → Product Attachment

   Click on the Bulk Attachment tab

   Select Add New

   In the form:

   • Choose the product you want to attach the manual to
   • Upload the PDF user manual (e.g., Setup_Guide_ModelX.pdf )
   • Add a title such as “User Manual”

   • Set the option “Show only for logged-in users” to Yes

Apply the Same Manual to All Products for Logged-In Users

1. Go to Dotstore → Product Attachment
2. Open the Global Settings tab
3. Upload the PDF manual
4. Set the title (e.g., “Master User Guide”)
5. Set “Show only for logged-in users” to Yes
6. Save the settings

Expected Outcome

Only users who are logged into their account will be able to see and download the attached user manual. Guest users will not see any file links, helping you maintain content control and gated access.
