Advanced Fees Price Rules - Cost on Total Cart Qty

This rule is used to apply gradually increasing, decreasing, or stable fees to a particular range of total cart quantity.

In this, you have to mention the  minimum total cart quantity ,  maximum total cart quantity, and the amount which will be added or subtracted per item. Keep the fee amount zero to keep the fee amount stable throughout the range you’ve created.
How it works:
Let’s say you have mentioned minimum quantity as ‘x’ and maximum quantity as ‘x+12’. So, it has created a range of 12 items in the overall cart.
Now, to increase the fee amount for this range per added item count, keep the fee amount positive. To decrease the amount with increasing items, keep it negative.
The fee amount will be added to the base fee amount, which you’ve filled in the Fee section of the main form ( Fee configuration) of this method.
So, if you add $1, then the customers will be charged a base fee + $1 for the x items while the base fee + $5 for x+4 items.
Example:
Charge the customer with $10+ if s/he buys 10-20 items, increasing the fee by 1% for this range.

A simple setup is to have a base fee for a product, and then add the price per quantity on the Cart page. By using this feature, you can easily set this up.

As an example given below, where the base fee of a product is $3, and there are three different rules that help to calculate the extra cost per quantity.

1. Fee Discount on Specific Total Cart Quantity: (Based on discount (minus) -1 = Qty between 1 to 4)

If you want to add a discount to a specific Cart quantity this rule is helpful.

For example, as shown in the below settings:- I have applied a rule, if Cart Qty is between 1 and 4, Fee Amount is -1.

Screenshot - 2: (Admin: Cost on total cart qty based advanced rule example 1)

Let’s see on Cart Page:-

The Base cost is $3 always as given at the top of the basic settings.  And the discount is -1 on the fee. Thus, the total fee charged would be $2.

2. Quantity based fee charge on Cart Subtotal - Based on a percentage (5%) = Qty between 5 to 10

If you want to add charges in Percentage on Cart Subtotal for a specific Cart quantity this rule is helpful.

For example, as shown in the below settings:- I have applied a rule, if Cart Qty is between 5 and 10, Fee Amount is 5% on Cart Subtotal.

Screenshot - 4: (Admin: Cost on total cart qty based advanced rule example 2)

Let’s see on Cart Page:

The Base cost is $3 always as given at the top of the settings.  And charges applied 5% on the total cart. Thus, the total fee charged would be $16.50.

Calculation:

Cart Subtotal = $396 * 5% = 19.80
+
Base Charges = $3

Total Fee = $3 + $19.80 = $22.80

3. Quantity based fee on Cart Subtotal - Based on fee amount +4 = Qty between 11 to 20

If you want to add charges an amount on Cart Subtotal for a specific Cart quantity this rule is helpful.

For example, as shown in the below settings:- I have applied a rule, if Cart Qty is between 11 and 20, Fee Amount is $4.

Screenshot - 6: (Admin: Cost on total cart qty based advanced rule example 3)

Let’s see on Cart Page:-

The Base cost is $3 always as given at the top of the settings and charges applied $4. Thus, the total fee charged would be $7.
