How to set a default featured image for bulk created posts and pages in WordPress
Mass Pages/Posts Creator lets you create many posts or pages in one go, instead of adding them one by one.
You can now pick a featured image while setting up a batch. Every post or page created in that batch gets the same image automatically.
Say you're creating 20 draft posts for a new category. Choose one image up front, and none of them go live without a thumbnail.

Benefits
Setting a default featured image can help you:
- Skip adding a featured image to each post or page by hand
- Keep new content from showing up with an empty thumbnail
- Get placeholder content ready for your theme layout faster
How to Set a Default Featured Image
Step 1: Open the bulk creation screen
Go to Dotstore Plugins > Mass Pages/Posts Creator in your WordPress admin.
Step 2: Set the number and type
Enter how many items you want in Number of posts. Then choose Post or Page from the Type dropdown. Type is required.
Step 3: Select a featured image
Find the Featured Image field and click Select image. The field is optional, so you can leave it empty if you don't need one.
Pick an image from your media library, or upload a new one.
Once you've chosen it, a preview appears under the field. Click Remove if you want to clear it, or Select image again to swap it.
Step 4: Create the batch and check the result
Click Create to generate your items. Then open any of the new posts or pages from your list. The image you picked shows up as the featured image in the editor's sidebar.
Example Use Cases
Placeholder content for a new site: If you're filling a staging site with dummy posts, select one neutral image so every item renders properly in your theme.
Category launch: If you're preparing a batch of posts for one topic, use a branded image for that category. Swap individual images later as the real content comes in.
Landing page set: If you're creating multiple pages that share the same banner, pick that banner once and skip the repeat uploads.
Conclusion
You can now set a featured image while configuring a bulk batch. Every post or page in that batch gets it automatically, so you spend less time on thumbnails after creation.
FAQs
1. Is the featured image required?
No. It's optional. If you leave it empty, items are created without a featured image.
2. Does it work for both posts and pages?
Yes. The image is applied to every item in the batch, whichever Type you choose.
3. Can I use a different image for each item?
Not from this setting. It applies one image to the whole batch. You can change the featured image on any individual post or page afterward in the editor.
4. How do I change or clear the image after selecting it?
Click Select image to choose a different one, or click Remove to clear it.
