Benefits of managing users for the size chart
Size Chart User Permissions — limit access to size chart actions (create, edit, delete, publish) by WordPress role (e.g., Administrator, Shop Manager, Editor) or approved custom roles. This keeps your product pages consistent and prevents accidental changes.
How does managing users help
- Protects live charts from accidental edits
- Separates duties (e.g., Merchandisers can edit; Support can view only)
- Speeds reviews by granting edit rights to the few who need them
- Works with existing WordPress roles and most role plugins
How to configure — step guide
Access the plugin
Goto: Dashboard → Dotstore → Product size chart → Size chart
Open permissions settings
- In the Size Chart area, open Settings (or Permissions tab).
- Find User Permissions (role access).
Choose who can manage size charts
3) Under Allow roles to Create/Edit/Delete, check the roles you trust (e.g., Administrator, Shop Manager).
4) (Optional) Under Read-only access, enable roles that can view charts in admin but can’t change them (e.g., Editor).
5) Click Save.
Verify in admin
6) Log in as each role (or use a role switcher) and confirm:
- Authorized roles can add new, Edit, and delete charts.
- Restricted roles cannot see the Add new button or the chart editor.
Front-end size charts still display normally for shoppers.
Front-end visibility for customers is not affected by admin permissions. Only those who can manage chart changes.

Real examples
Example 1 — Lock down to Admin & Shop Manager
- Enable Administrator and Shop Manager under Create/Edit/Delete.
- All other roles: no edit access.
- Result: Only two trusted roles can change live charts; Editors/Authors can’t.
Example 2 — Give a “Merchandiser” role edit rights
- Create a custom role Merchandiser with your role plugin.
- In User Permissions, allow Merchandiser to Create/Edit (but not Delete).
- Result: Merchandisers update tables; Admin approves deletions.
Expected outcome
- Only specified roles can create or edit size charts in the WooCommerce admin.
- Unauthorized users won’t see Add new or Edit actions.
- Front-end product pages continue to show the correct charts to shoppers.
FAQs
1) Do permissions affect the front end?
No. These settings control admin access only. Customers still see assigned charts normally.
2) Can I allow Editors to view but not edit charts?
Yes. Put Editor under Read-only access (or simply do not grant edit/delete).
3) Can I stop users from deleting charts but allow edits?
Yes—use separate toggles if available (Create/Edit vs Delete). Otherwise, keep Delete limited to Admins.
4) Will this work with custom roles?
Yes. Create a role with your role plugin, then enable it in Size Chart → Settings → User Permissions.
5) What if a user still sees the Add button after changes?
Clear any role cache, re-login, and ensure they don’t also have a higher-privilege role.
