How to Block or Unblock an Order from the WooCommerce Admin

Fraud Prevention For WooCommerce can add a suspicious order’s customer details to the blacklist from the order screen. You do not have to copy them into Blacklist Settings by hand.

You also choose which details to add or remove: Email, IP Address, First Name, and Last Name. If you blocked someone by mistake, Unblock Order takes those values off the list.

For example, you open a high-risk order, tick Email and IP Address, then click Block Order. The next checkout with that email or IP is blocked.

Benefits

These actions help you:

  • Blacklist a fraud order without leaving the order screen
  • Add only the details you want, not every field on the order
  • Remove a mistaken block without editing the full blacklist

How to Block or Unblock an Order

Step 1: Open the order

Go to WooCommerce → Orders and open the order.

On the side, find Fraud Prevention - actions.

Step 2: Choose details under Block What?

Under Block What?, tick the details to add or remove:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Email
  • IP Address

Each line shows the value from that order, such as Email (customer@example.com). An empty field is disabled.

Step 3: Block the order

If those details are not already on the blacklist, the box shows Block Order.

  1. Tick the details you want to block.
  2. Click Block Order.
  3. Read What happens when you block an order?
  4. Click Block Order again to confirm, or Cancel.

The selected details are added to the blacklist. Future checkouts that use those details are blocked. You can still unblock later.

Example from the plugin: if you block email and IP, the customer cannot place orders using the same email or from the same IP again.

Step 4: Unblock the order if needed

If any of those details are already on the blacklist, the box shows Unblock Order instead.

  1. Tick only the details you want to remove.
  2. Click Unblock Order.
  3. Read What happens when you unblock an order?
  4. Click Unblock Order again to confirm, or Cancel.

Only the checked details are removed. The customer can place future orders using those unblocked details. You can block them again later.

Example from the plugin: if you unblock email and IP, the customer can place orders again using the same email or IP.

Check Fraud Prevention → Blacklist Settings if you want to see the lists after you block or unblock.

Example Use Cases

A clear fraud order

Tick Email and IP Address, then Block Order, so the same buyer cannot try again.

A common first name

Leave First Name unchecked and block Email only, so you do not block other customers named John.

A false positive

Open the order, tick the details you added by mistake, then Unblock Order.

Conclusion

Use Fraud Prevention - actions on the order to add or remove selected customer details from the blacklist. Block Order stops future checkouts from those values. Unblock Order restores them. Confirm the popup, then review Blacklist Settings if you need to.

FAQs

1. Where is this on the order screen?

Open any order. The side box is Fraud Prevention - actions. It shows Block Order or Unblock Order, plus Block What?

2. Why do I see Unblock Order instead of Block Order?

The plugin shows Unblock Order when at least one of that order’s details is already on the blacklist.

3. Does Unblock Order clear every blacklist value for that customer?

No. Only the boxes you tick are removed.

4. Does this change the current order’s status?

No. It updates the blacklist for future checkouts. It does not cancel or refund the order you are viewing.
